Servotech Renewable Power System Limited has received a significant order from Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) to set up an advanced EV charging station at Kempegowda International Airport.
This new facility will include 10 ultra-fast DC chargers, each with a capacity of 240 kW—making it the largest airside EV charging hub at any Indian airport.
The charging hub will have a total installed capacity of 2.4 MW. It will support electric buses that transport passengers between terminals and aircraft, ensuring smooth 24/7 airside EV operations. This is expected to drastically cut down on the airport’s transport-related carbon emissions, helping it become greener and more efficient.
The EV charging station will be placed strategically within the airport to support faster turnaround times and improved electric vehicle performance—both crucial for busy airport operations.
As part of the agreement, Servotech will handle the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and five-year maintenance of the charging infrastructure. The company aims to ensure smooth functioning and high energy efficiency throughout the life of the project.
Sarika Bhatia, Director of Servotech Renewable, shared her excitement about the project. “This project is more than just an infrastructure milestone, it’s a step toward transforming urban transport at one of India’s busiest airports allowing us to electrify the airport and play a vital role in reducing its carbon emissions with our advanced EV charging technology and infrastructure,” she said.
The company further plans to expand further and take on more such projects to support India’s clean energy transition.
