A bizarre sight of a train in Varanasi being blocked by an exhaustive traffic jam caught the internet’s attention in a viral video. In the clip, one can see a train paused along its path after the driver observed multiple vehicles standing and blocking the track built across the public road.
Even as a policeman and a traffic authority tried to disperse the host of vehicles blocking the train’s path, they stood unmoved with no space to sneak through in a terrible jam that would’ve caused great inconvenience to all the travellers.
Train Engine In Banaras Blocked By Traffic Jam
Multiple cars, cycles and rickshaw drivers could be seen placing their vehicles criss-crossed right in front of the train, which waited for the two officials to clear up its path. The jam would’ve likely persisted for hours, resulting in massive distress and frustration to all the locals.
“Yah banaras hai yahaan train bhi jaam main fas jaati hai (this is Banaras, where even the train gets caught and blocked by a traffic jam)” wrote the popular account in the video, which instantly grabbed the attention of internet users.
Banaras Train Incident Gets Internet Talking
The clip of the traffic jam blocking the train’s path evoked laughs among a section of internet users, but also raised speculations about whether it was an actual train or an engine with raw material going for testing.
“This place is near my house. Yahan se engine testing ke liye nikalti hain workshop se,” wrote a local from Varanasi.
Another user stressed, “This track is used for engine testing after making a new engine, don’t spread rumours.”
“E Banaras ho guru yaha kuch bhi ho sakela,” joked someone else.
But the incident highlighted not just the public transport inconvenience but also the engineering and infrastructural error, as the track was built along a busy public road. It was only inevitable for the engine to be caught in a traffic jam of such enormity at some stage.
