11-Storey Building Near Key Interchange: Know More About It
The project will feature an 11-storey building, along with a ground floor and two basement levels, located just 50 metres from the upcoming interchange station that will connect the Purple and Blue lines.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) owns a 6,730-square-metre (1.66-acre) plot near Old Madras Road and the Outer Ring Road in east Bengaluru.
Public-Private Partnership for 30 Years
The two basement levels will be used for parking, while the upper floors will be available for commercial use, including office spaces, retail shops, and shopping centres.
According to Deccan Herald, “This project will be developed through a public-private partnership (PPP) for 30 years,” said Raghavendra Rao, Deputy Chief Engineer (Property Development Division), BMRCL.
The project is expected to be completed by 2027, around the same time as the opening of the Blue Line (Silk Board-KR Puram-Airport).
KR Puram’s Parking to Be Second-Largest in Metro
The KR Puram parking facility will be the second largest. Currently, Majestic station has space for 260 two-wheelers and 36 cars, while KR Puram can accommodate 530 two-wheelers but no cars.
The new integrated developments will significantly expand parking capacity, with Majestic set to house 4,000 two-wheelers and 1,000 cars, while KR Puram will offer space for 1,742 two-wheelers and 556 cars.
